  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, timestamps)

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the SafeHoods platform
  • Enable resource registration and coordination within your community
  • Facilitate communication between community members and coordinators
  • Allow first responders to access resource information during emergencies
  • Send important notifications about your account or the service
  • Improve our platform and develop new features
  • Ensure the security and integrity of our systems
  • Comply with legal obligations

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Within Your Community

Your resource information may be visible to other members of your community based on role-based access controls:

  • Pod administrators can see detailed resource information for residents in their pod
  • Community administrators can see information across pods they manage
  • First responders assigned to your pod can access resource data
  • Other residents may see aggregated resource counts (not individual details)

Service Providers

We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our platform, such as hosting providers and email services. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests by public authorities.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure authentication with optional multi-factor authentication
  • Role-based access controls limiting data visibility
  • Regular security assessments and updates

SafeHoods is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete that information.
